-
- invites you to participate in a one-day tutorial introduction to
- parallel programming. This course consists of a series of lectures
- by leading experts in parallel computing. It provides a comprehensive
- introduction to the tools and techniques used to write parallel programs.
- The tutorial aims to communicate the practical information required by
- scientists, engineers and educators who need to write parallel programs
- or who intend to teach parallel programming. The principles of parallel
- program design are introduced, and relevant topics in architecture,
- algorithms and performance modeling are discussed. The major parallel
- programming standards HPF (High Performance Fortran) and MPI
- (Message Passing Interface) are described, as are programming tools for
- their use. In addition, details of two modern parallel languages,
- Compositional C++ and Fortran M, are given.
